Architectural Modelmaking
Course Syllabus

Instructor: Erik David Hegre

Course Description:

Model making is the best ways to convey design ideas in addition to being a rewarding hobby. Models can show everything from how a building is sited in a landscape to specific connection details found in construction. While in the studio, students will learn how to scale their projects from existing buildings and drawings into a manageable project. Modeling topics to be covered will include an overview of model types, materials choices and modeling techniques and tools. Students can come to class with a project in mind, find a local building, or design a project to model. Participants will finish the class with ability to scale and proportion buildings into models and have an understanding of the types, techniques and tools available for constructing them.
