Course Description

This one-day intensive on the applications of algebra, geometry and trigonometry in design and construction will make the confusing understandable and the difficult do-able. We will explore everything from the tables on a framing square to the pythagorean theorum; the elegant geometry of moldings, stairs and roof systems to the use of a scientific calculator; the Platonic solids to the golden mean. For students with prior knowledge of design and construction. Intermediate to Professional.

Course Objectives

If you know how to cut a board and swing a hammer, but calculations leave you stymied, this class should give you the tools and the confidence to tackle the numbers and compute the answers.
