Course Syllabus
Lead Instructor: Brad Guy
Objective:
- To give students a basic understanding of deconstruction and the building materials reuse industry through site visits, lectures, and hands on workshops
- To explore the potential of finding, purchasing, and utilizing architectural salvage and reusable building materials in new designs, construction, or crafts
- To share the importance of recycling and reusing building materials in an effort to conserve natural resources and preserve historic features
- To empower students with skills and knowledge that enables them to start or support deconstruction and salvage operations in their community
