Overview
The Summer Session in Design/Build is an opportunity for current students and practitioners to hone their skills in architectural design and construction through advanced topics that bridge the classroom and the jobsite, concept and reality, academics and practice. Working in collaboration with a community partner, participants will have the unique opportunity to design and propose, through various levels of planning, a capacity-building vision that will allow a change-making agency to flourish. Academics
Students experience the semester’s multi-disciplinary curriculum as an integrated whole: lectures, job site work, seminars, discussions and studio work are designed to reinforce and complement each other, while informing the group design/build project. To help students, faculty, and registrars translate the program into discrete course credits at their home institutions, the integrated curriculum can be segmented into two distinct course offerings. Admissions
Priority applications are accepted through February 15th, 2012. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. After that point applications will be reviewed on a space-available basis. Applicants are required to submit an application form, essay question responses, and a $25 application fee. Read more »
