Our Materials, Methods and Building Systems Curriculum addresses issues related to specific design and construction techniques. These courses focus on the pieces of buildings that are only dealt with schematically or conceptually in our larger-scale courses. They give you a chance to gain more specific knowledge and experience in the components and systems required to design/build a complete project. Through in-depth explorations of particular construction techniques, design concerns, and cutting-edge technologies you will gain the design skills to detail building particulars, and the building skills to actually execute them. In addition to teaching traditional construction techniques, we offer a wide variety of hands-on instruction in alternative building, giving you an opportunity to learn, experiment with, and compare various building systems.
