Steve is the principal of Amstutz Woodworking LLC, in the Adirondacks of NY, that designs and builds custom timberframes for houses, additions , barns, boathouses, etc. throughout New England. He has been timber framing since l989 and building since l979, including the restoration of Victorian houses, cabinet-making, general contracting, and training of apprentices. His firm won two design awards at the 1994 international conference of the Timber Framers Guild of North America. In l999, he taught timber framing in Denmark. He has taught at Yestermorrow since l994.
