Reuse : Recycle

This course will explore architecture that is made from re-used and recycled materials. In addition to building temporary structures with recycled materials, we will also look at and discuss examples of re-use in both art and architecture as ways to work creatively with materials. The re-use of materials is something that we can use to draw conclusions about how to use materials in general and also about the way our culture views waste and commodities. The class will complete several temporary installation works all of which will involve harvested (recycled) and re-used materials. The nature of material re-use will also be studied in this class; and the examination of the ultimate use of our harvested materials will be a final part of the course. All Levels .
