Designing even a simple stairway can appear to be a daunting project for the non-professional, but with a couple of days of instruction, anyone can design and build a stairway. The course will have two components: the first will be a studio session focused on the basic layout skills for designing safe, practical and code legal stairs. The second part will be spent in the shop actually building a basic stairway. While the main focus will be on conventional stairs, some time will be devoted to spiral stairs, and ship’s ladders. Beginner to Intermediate.
