There is nothing quite like the feeling of using a sharp, well-tuned hand plane. In this workshop you'll learn how to restore old hand planes and what to look for when purchasing a new one. Once your planes are sharp and adjusted properly, you'll learn how to flatten, shape and square-up stock, edge join boards, and use a smoothing plane to create a surface so smooth that sanding is unnecessary. Learn how hand planes can compliment a modern shop filled with power tools. Please bring along any planes that you own, but we will also have planes available if you do not yet own any. All Levels.
